Altoona is a city in Wilson County, Kansas, along the Verdigris River. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 354. Altoona was originally called Geddesburg when it was founded in 1869. It was renamed Altoona in 1870.
The Altoona/Cedar Township Cemetery sits on the Northeast edge of Altoona. The Hatler Cemetery sits Southwest of Altoona on the West side of the Verdigris River. The Buffville/Verdi Cemetery sits South of Altoona on the East side of the Verdigris River. See below for Google maps/directions.
